MOE visit

This morning we waited for a phone call from Sveta to see if we would get to view the files of children at the MOE. She called at 10:30am to tell us that the MOE had asked her to call back at 2pm. At 2pm, she called us and said it was time to go. My stomach was all tight and I was nervous! We drove there and looked at files immediately. Unlike Ukraine where the files are actual handheld files with pictures, etc, the files at the MOE are on the computer. Tyler and I each wrote down the information of each of the children and looked at their pictures. The woman presented us with 5 children to consider – all boys! I was imagining at least one girl, so I was surprised.

Tyler and I were able to look at all the pictures one more time before going out in the hallway to consider which we were interested in meeting. We both agreed easily to see the first boy, “Elijah”, who is 18 months old and has a heart condition which is operable. Tyler was interested to meet “Dmitri”, who is 3 years old and has cerebral palsy. I was interested to meet “Dennis”, who is 4 years old and also has a heart condition that is operable. After thinking and pondering, we decided to meet all three of them! We went back in to the office and said we wanted to meet “Elijah”, “Dmitri”, and “Dennis”. They said that we lacked one form and sent us off to the notary. $100 later in notary forms, we returned to the MOE where they gave us our referrals, including the last names to each boy, none of which I can spell or pronounce.

Tomorrow we will visit “Dmitri” and “Dennis”, who are both in a baby house which is 3 hours away. On Wednesday, we will visit “Elijah” who is in the baby house here in Nizhny Novgorod. At this time, we feel that we will adopt all three boys. However, we want to meet them all before making a decision. Once we commit to adopting one, two, or all of them, we will include pictures and their new names – providing that Tyler & I have agreed upon them! I must remind you that I was thinking we would adopt a boy and girl, so we only have one boy name chosen thus far! Ha ha!

We are very, very excited about these three boys and can’t wait to share more about them + pictures! Happy day! J

Those 3 little boys will be very lucky and blessed. I can't imagine having to choose. I'm glad that in our region they chose for us and sent us the files before travel. It's hard enough to see the little children at the baby home that you just can't take.

I can't wait to hear of the first meetings with the boys. It brings me to tears just thinking about it.

Sounds like a familiar story! We went expecting a boy and a girl ages 4-5. We ended up with two boys ages 2.75 and 7.

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways, acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

Oh, this is wonderful. Remember that for every one boy adopted, two girls get adopted, so there are always more boys available. I hope that it works out so that you can adopt all three, but that no matter what, you can make a desicion that you are at peace with.
