Today Sveta picked Tyler & I up to head to Elijah’s orphanage. We met with the orphanage director – who was much nicer than Sveta said she usually is – and then we met with Elijah. Poor little guy – he did not know what to think about Tyler and I. In fact, it was his first time in his entire life where we saw a man. He would be okay sitting close to Tyler but if Tyler picked him up, he started to cry. L He did, however, warm up to me and especially liked snuggling with me. He actually fell asleep on my shoulder – those were precious moments! We had about one hour with Elijah before they took him back to the groupa. He can stand up and sit down on his own. He is also making sounds. I loved seeing him toddle around the playroom. He especially enjoyed the toys with music. I can’t wait to see him again.
Tyler & I did some talking and praying and we have come to a conclusion: we are not adopting Dmitri. We are, however, adopting Dennis and Elijah (we plan to rename them, but those names are still in the works). We feel at peace with our decision and cannot wait to bring them home as soon as possible, which looks like it will be in September. I hope they won’t forget us by then! Tomorrow we are heading back to see Dennis again. J Thank you for your prayers and comments!
